Who we are

Check My Vehicle is run by [company name], registered in England and Wales, company number [number], registered office [address]. Contact us at [support email].

What the service does

You enter a UK number plate. We show some details for free. If you buy a report, we build it from official vehicle and MOT records and our own analysis, and keep it in your account.

What a report is and isn't

A report is guidance, not advice. It can't see the car itself, and records can be incomplete or wrong. Costs shown are rough estimates. Unless a report says it includes them, it does not cover outstanding finance, stolen status or insurance write-off history. Always inspect the car and check those separately before paying.

Price and delivery

The price is shown before you pay, in pounds, including VAT where it applies. We deliver the report straight away after payment. When you buy, you ask us to start immediately and agree you lose your 14-day right to cancel once the report has been delivered. If we can't deliver the report, we'll refund you in full.

Your account

Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account. We may close accounts that break these terms.

Fair use

Don't scrape the site, resell reports in bulk, or use the service to find or harass individuals. We limit how many plates can be checked in a short time.

Our liability

We take care to give accurate reports, but we can't promise they are error-free. We're not responsible for losses that come from relying on a report instead of inspecting the car. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. [Add the dispute-resolution wording your solicitor recommends.]
